Wanting to do your bit for the environment? Go green.

Per capita, Australia is one of the highest greenhouse gas producers in the world, with the average household contributing over 8 tonnes of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide each year solely through energy use.  Make a change to green energy today and do your bit for the environment.

The what, why and how of green energy.

What is Green Energy?
Energy that is generated from a renewable source such as wind, solar, hydro or biomass.  Green energy does not omit greenhouse gases.

How do I convert my household to Green Energy?
Almost every energy company in Australia provides a green energy alternative.  Call your electricity provider for details of their green offering.

How can I be sure the energy I am getting is green?
The government has set up a national accreditation body, Greenpower that provides certification to all renewable energy products.  Retailers can only call their electricity "green" if they meet, and maintain, the strict rules of the program.  Always look for the Greenpower endorsement when choosing a retailer/product.

Does green energy cost more?
Green energy does cost more but there are numerous products to suit every budget, from as little as an extra $1 per week you can make a difference.
